Safe Way to Clean Your Property

What is Soft Washing?

Soft washing is a cleaning method that uses a low-pressure spray to
clean the exterior surfaces of buildings, roofs, and concrete surfaces. Unlike pressure washing, which can damage more fragile areas of the building like windows, soft washing uses a spray of cleaning solutions to remove debris and organic stains from surfaces. The process involves using a powerful surfactant of choice, which reduces surface tension and allows the solution to spread around and cling to the surface on which it is applied.

Soft washing is an effective way to clean roofs, buildings, concrete areas, stone, etc, without the risk of damage. Once the impacted area has been treated with a soft wash solution, the surface will be protected against mould, mildew, algae and more. Soft washing also removes leaves, dirt, and other debris at a surface level. Generally, (subject to mould infestation and rainfall and sun levels), it takes up to 12 months or so for the rain, sun and wind to remove the dead biological growth from the roof to produce a clean exterior surface.

How Soft Washing Compares

Soft Washing vs Pressure Cleaning

While both methods are designed to clean exterior surfaces, they work in very different ways. Here’s how soft washing and pressure cleaning compare—and when each one is the right choice.

Soft Washing

Gentle chemical-based surface cleaning

Low pressure
Delicate surfaces (render, painted areas, roofs)
Breaks down dirt chemically
Safe on surfaces, longer-lasting clean

Pressure Cleaning

High-pressure surface blasting

High pressure
Hard surfaces (driveways, concrete, pavers)
Blasts away dirt with force
Fast results, ideal for heavy grime

Safe. Effective. Long-Lasting Exterior Cleaning.

Once the impacted area has been treated with a biocide like spray and leave the surface will be protected against mould, mildew, algae, and more. It also removes leaves, dirt, and other surface-level debris. Generally (depending on mould levels, rainfall, and sun exposure), it can take up to 12 months for the rain, sun, and wind to fully remove the dead biological growth from the roof and reveal a clean exterior surface.
